of Steve Lipford CPA & Associates
Elizabethton, TN, July 27, 2010 - Raquel A. McKinney, CPA, P.C. (Hampton, TN, www.elizabethtoncpa.com) has announced the acquisition of Steve Lipford CPA & Associates (Elizabethton, TN). Steve Lipford CPA & Associates is a long-established Elizabethton accounting firm engaging primarily in tax return preparation and related accounting services.
Mr. Lipford decided to sell his practice due to continuing health problems. “Steve wanted to be sure that his clients were with an accounting firm that would take good care of them and give them the high level of support and satisfaction that he has given them over the years," said Judy Lipford, Mr. Lipford’s wife. “Raquel is exactly the kind of CPA with the expertise and work ethic that Steve has been looking for to take over his practice.” Mr. Lipford unfortunately passed away a few days after the transaction was closed.
“When we began our business, we put the technology and personnel infrastructure in place so that we could easily acquire additional accounting practices. We believe Mr. Lipford’s practice is a perfect fit for our practice, as we will be able to provide his former clients with additional services such as bookkeeping, accounts payable and payroll services” said McKinney. “One of the things we learned from being a competitor in the market with Mr. Lipford is that his clients have been extremely loyal to him. We take very seriously the trust that has been placed in us and look forward to continuing to provide Steve’s former clients with the high quality of service and personal attention to which they have become accustomed.”
In order to assure continuity of service, McKinney will be maintaining Lipford’s current office location at 516 Broad Street in Elizabethton in addition to her Hampton office. “We are also excited that Mr. Lipford’s oldest daughter, Kimberly Morelock, has agreed to become our newest employee in order to assist us in the transition process.”
